Reflections of Thailand – Sala Rim Nam: House by the River

See the press release from the event here

Bangkok is encircled by a labyrinth of klongs (canals) alive with communities afloat the Chao Phraya River. The klongs are a tranquil part of the city, a place to experience traditional, modest and contented ways of Thai life. They are a playground for children, home to bustling floating markets and a peaceful place to rest in waterfront salas (outdoor living spaces). This garden represents a typical Bangkok riverside home. The planting surrounding the sala is an inspiring blend of regional plants, towering tropical trees to provide welcome shade, aromatic herbs grown for home cooking and scented flowers to add character and colour. Song birds swing in cages and bamboo fishing equipment can be seen drying in the sun after a day’s fishing.

Sala Rim Nam: House by the River is a place to reflect and relax. Thai people are creative, respect nature and nurture their land; welcome to a special garden that represents their unique way of life.

Pop by the promotional tent where Tourism Thailand and EVA Airways will be running a Travel Clinic giving away special fares, exclusive holiday offers for show visitors and on hand to help answer any Thailand travel questions you have. Join us for a taste of Thailand and enjoy a variety of sampling activities using Thai herbs picked fresh from the garden that will be taking place throughout the week.
